During the inspection, the inspector reviewed the areas listed above. Unless otherwise noted as a violation within this inspection report, the provider was in compliance with the standards reviewed. If there were any serious injuries or fatalities related to a violation, the details will be included in the description of the violation.

Technical Assistance:
Effective January 1, 2025, the VDOE will begin determining compliance with ? 22.1-289.057 of the Code of Virginia, which is legislation passed by the General Assembly in 2020. The law requires all licensed child day programs, religious exempt child day centers that serve preschool age children, and certified preschools to test potable drinking water. The law requires that programs submit their plans and test results to the Virginia Department of Health Office of Drinking Water (VDH ODW) and the Superintendent. If the results of the testing indicate elevated lead levels, the program shall remediate, retest, and resubmit results to VDH ODW and the Superintendent. There is an additional alternative bottled water option that comes with additional requirements. Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was initiated and completed on 11/12/24. The on-site inspection began at 9:20 am and ended at 11:55 am. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 56 children present and 10 staff. The inspector reviewed 5 children?s records and 5 staff records on-site.

This inspection included document review, tour of the facility, interviews, and observations.
The Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-40-M
Description: The center shall maintain, in a way that is accessible to all staff who work with children, a current written list of all children's allergies, sensitivities, and dietary restrictions documented in the allergy plan, This list shall be dated and kept confidential in each room or area where children are present.
1. The allergy list in classroom 119 was dated 9/3/24, however the most recent list was dated 10/30/24.
2. Child #1's allergy was posted in classroom 119 , this information was visible for all to see and was not confidential.

Plan of Correction: Effective immediately, the September allergy list was pulled from all binders,
Additionally, confidential allergy information was removed and placed in the appropriate location.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-350-B-1
Description: A ratio of 1 staff to 4 infants must be maintained.

There were 10 infants present with 2 staff at the beginning of the inspection. A third staff arrived approximately 2 minutes later.

Plan of Correction: It is extremely rare that we have ratio issues. We just recently enrolled additional children and staff were running late, We continue to hire new staff and plan to maintain ratios in all classrooms.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-350-B-3
Description: For 2 year-old children , a ratio of 1 staff to 8 children must be maintained.

There were 10- 2 year-old children present with 1 staff for approximately 7 minutes earlier in the morning.

Plan of Correction: It is extremely rare that we have ratio issues. We just recently enrolled additional children and staff were running late, We continue to hire new staff and plan to maintain ratios in all classrooms.
