Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was completed on 11/11/2024as a part of the licensure period. The on-site inspection began at 10:30am and ended at 12:00pm.The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. This inspection included: document review, tour of the facility, interviews, observations and measurements. There were 20 children present and 5 staff. The inspector reviewed 5 children?s records and 5 staff records. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-780-270-A
Description: Areas and equipment of the center, inside and outside, shall be maintained in a safe condition.

There was a two tiered rack of chairs stored in the room used for the school-out program. The inspector pushed on the rack and the top tier of chairs were not secured and slide around.

Plan of Correction: The director acknowledged the hazard and will speak to the YMCA about relocating the chair storage racks or finding a way to secure the top tier of chairs to prevent them from falling.
