An unannounced "Code of Virginia Section 63.2-1716" compliance monitoring inspection was conducted on February 21, 2020 beginning at 10:30 AM and ending at 2:00 PM with the director. There were eighty-eight children in care during the inspection. The children's ages ranged between five months and four years old. The infants were observed sleeping in cribs and playing with soft toys. The older children were observed during instructional time, watching an age appropriate movie, and being read stories by teachers. The playgrounds were observed. Center documents, ten children's records, and five staff records were reviewed.

Based on observation, the center did not ensure that there was one staff member for every 10 children ages three to five years old. Evidence: The K3B class had twenty-one children in the care of two staff members.
Plan of Correction:
One of the children will be reassigned to a different classroom. The vendor will ensure that the appropriate ratio is maintained per their age level.
