8VAC20-790 Subsidy Regulations.
Comments:
A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on 11/16/2023 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from 12:10pm-1:50pm. There were 36 children (2-5yrs.) directly supervised by 10 staff. The physical plant, 5 staff records, 5 children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating in group play, story time, singing, eating and napping. There was an ample supply of materials for the children. There was an adequate number of staff with current certification in MAT, CPR and First Aid, as well as DHO training. Staff-to-child ratios were in compliance. The center was clean and organized. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy regulations that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Based on record review and interview, a staff member did not have documentation to verify that they had completed the Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff within 90 days of employment.
Evidence: Staff #2's (DOH: 10/1/2016) record did not contain a Virginia Preservice Training certificate.
