The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 02/02/21 and concluded on 02/08/21. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 110 children present and 17 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 5 children?s records and 5 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Based on a records review the center did not ensure all staff had all required background checks. Evidence: Staff #4 (hired 02/18/19) listed on the sworn statement of affirmation as having lived in 3 other states, outside the state of Virginia. The center did not have a criminal record or sex offender check from the 3 states outside of Virginia. The center did not have a central registry check for 2 of the 3 states listed.
Plan of Correction:
The following plan of correction was provided by the director during the exit interview: The record checks will all be sent out for this week. Confirmation that each was check was requested will be forwarded to the inspector.
