Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 5/21/2020 and concluded on 05/21/2020. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 15 children present and 4 staff. The inspector emailed the director/provider a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 3 children?s records and 3 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Based on record review and staff interview, center did not obtain fingerprinting results for employee before hired. Evidence: Staff # 3 was hired on 2/10/20 center did not obtain fingerprinting results for Staff # 3 until February 11, 2020. Staff #3 had orientation on February 10, 2020. Staff #3 confirmed her hire date was 2/10/20.
Plan of Correction:
Senior leadership will ensure that all background information is on site prior to any employee starting orientation. Effective today, DM will require a copy of all fingerprint documentation prior to the actual start date of orientation to ensure compliance.
