Comments:
An unannounced inspection was conducted on 3/6/20 in response to a complaint received on 3/5/20. The complaint was related to the center not maintaining the appropriate children to staff ratio in the infant classroom on 3/4/20. 2 staff were interviewed and Child Supervision Records for 3/4/20 were reviewed. Based on record reviews and staff interview, the center did not maintain the ratio of 1 staff member for every 4 children from birth to the age of 16 months. Evidence: 1. Documentation on the Child Supervision Records (CSRs) for the infant room dated 3/4/20 shows that Staff # 1 was alone in the infant room with five children (5 infants) from 7:20 am to 7:30 am. 2. Staff # 1 stated that on 3/4/20, she had 5 infants by herself from 7:20 am to 7:30 am.
Plan of Correction:
Additional coaching on problem solving was conducted on the date of the inspection. Management team will conduct 15 minute CSR verifications.
