An unannounced complaint investigation was conducted on July 27, 2024 regarding ratios. A review of the facility as well as daily attendance records revealed there was a preponderance of evidence to support the complaint regarding ratios ?Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Based on review of daily attendance records, the staff-to-children ratio of 1:5 for children 16 months-24 months was not followed when children were in care.
Evidence: 1. The toddler classroom attendance sheets for June 17, 2024 listed 11 children as of 8:49 am, with two teachers. The classroom had 13 children in attendance when the third teacher arrived at 10:10 am. 2. One child was moved to the Discovery Preschool classroom (2 year old classroom) from 9:52 am - 10:10 am, but was 22 months old, which drops the required ratio to 1:5.
Plan of Correction:
The management team will put in a transition sheet and developmental assessment for each child. Along with the parent permission slip to move to the next class.

Evidence: The Discovery Preschool classroom attendance records for June 17th, 2024 listed 17 children as of 9:35 am, with two teachers. The classroom had 20 children in attendance when the third teacher arrived at 9:52 am.

Based on review or daily attendance records, the staff-to-children ratio of 1:10 for children 3 years up to school age was not followed when children were in care.
Evidence: The preschool classroom attendance sheets on June 17th, 2024 listed 21 children as of 9:29 am, with two teachers. The classroom had 21 children in attendance until 10:08 am when a child was moved to the Pre-Kindergarten room.
Plan of Correction:
The management team will ensure all ratios are followed throughout the day.
