Technical Assistance:
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. A monitoring inspection was initiated on 11/20/2020 and concluded on 11/24/2020. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. The inspector emailed the director/provider a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 4 children?s records and 3 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
Based on a record review the center did not ensure all staff had required background checks. Evidence: Staff #1, hired 06/08/20, listed living outside the state of Virginia within the last 5 years. The center did not have a central registry check from that state for staff #1.
Plan of Correction:
The following plan of correction was provded by the director during the exit interview: Finding the correct website to obtain the form was difficult and completing it was an oversight. The ceheck will be sent this week.
