Technical Assistance:
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. A monitoring inspection was initiated on 03/01/21 and concluded on 03/04/21. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 49 children present and12 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 5 children?s records and 4 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
Based on observation and interview the center did not have all required emergency supplies. Evidence: The center did not have a working, battery-operated flashlight or working, battery-operated radio. The Director confirmed the center did not have these two emergency items.
Plan of Correction:
The following corrective action was provided by the director during the exit interview. The center has already ordered a radio and batteries for it and the flashlight.
