An unannounced subsidy health and safety inspection was conducted in conjunction with a renewal inspection on 03/15/2022 from 4:10 pm - 6:30 pm. At the time of entrance there were 14 school age children in care with 2 staff. Children were observed eating dinner and playing table games in the cafeteria. Records were reviewed for two children in care. Four staff records were reviewed earlier at the Blocker Family YMCA where staff records are maintained for the Norfolk School Based Child Care Programs. Two violations were found in the area of staff training and are listed on the violation notice issued to the facility.
Based on record review and interview, the center failed to ensure that staff have current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) appropriate to the ages of children in care.
Evidence: 1. Staff 1, hire date 10/15/2021, lacks certification in CPR. a. Administrative staff confirmed that staff 1 did not have CPR certification.

Staff 1 will complete CPR certification.
