Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. A monitoring inspection was conducted on 4/14/21 and 4/15/21. The provider was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were six children (12 points) and three caregivers present . The entire home and outside play area along with the equipment to be used by the children was inspected. The Inspector reviewed 2 children?s records and 6 caregiver/household member records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility. The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Based on a review of six caregiver/household member records, it was determined that the provider did not ensure that within 30 days of a person in the home becoming 14 years old a search of the central registry finding is completed.
Evidence: 1. The record for caregiver/household member #6 (14 years old) did not contain documentation of a completed search of the central registry finding. 2. Caregiver/household member #2 reviewed the record for the caregiver/household member #7, and confirmed that caregiver/household member #6 was 14 years old, and that the search of the central registry finding has not been completed.
Plan of Correction:
The provider responded: We will complete a search of the central registry for caregiver/household member #6 within10 days. Once the results are received we will forward them to the Licensing Inspector.
