Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using a hybrid protocol including a remote document review and an on-site inspection of the program.
A renewal inspection was conducted on February 15, 2022. There were 102 children present and in the care of 14 staff. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staff qualifications, staffing and supervision, physical plant, programming, special services, medications, special care provisions and emergencies. A total of 4 children's records and 5 staff records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined a non-compliance with applicable standards or law and the violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Based on review of medication and verification from staff, the emergency medication for one child was not labeled with the required information.
Evidence: 1. The emergency medication for Child A did not contain the prescription label showing the name for whom the medication was prescribed, the dosage amount and the times to be given. 2. Staff confirmed that the medication did not contain the prescription label.
Plan of Correction:
The director will talk with the parent immediately and ensure that medication is brought in with the prescription label attached.
