Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 2/8/2024 from10:00am to 12:00pm. At the time of the inspection there were 71 children in care and 10 staff members. Children were observed participating in various activities including an in-house enrichment activity about bears, fine motor activities and art. Records were reviewed for five children and three staff members. Medication, evacuation drills, emergency supplies and other required records and postings were also reviewed. The information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice and discussed during the exit interview.
Repeat violation Based on observation and interviews, it was determined that the facility did not ensure all areas and equipment of the center were maintained in a safe and operable condition. Evidence: 1. There were six rusty nail heads protruding from a wooden pallet used for the children?s gardening. 2. The owner confirmed the the nail heads were sticking up from the wood.
Plan of Correction:
The gardening pallet was removed and disposed of.
