Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternative remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A renewal inspection was initiated on 05/05/2020 and concluded on 05/07/2020. The program director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were no children in care as the facility is currently not operating due to the pandemic. The inspector emailed the program director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The inspector review 2 children's records, 2 staff records and 3 board officer/agent records during the inspection to ensure documentation was complete. The information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
Based on record review and discussion with staff, the facility failed to obtain the central registry findings within 30 days of employment.
Evidence: The record for Staff #2 contained a documented hire date of 10/20/2019; the central registry finding was dated 01/06/2020.
Plan of Correction:
A follow-up will be conducted when central registry findings are not returned. The follow-up will be documented. The request will be resubmitted if not received within 45 days.
