Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 3/7/2024. There were 14 children, ages 5 -10 years and 2 staff present during the inspection. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, personnel, environment and equipment, care of children, preventing the spread of disease, emergencies and nutrition. A total of 6 children?s records and 3 staff records were reviewed. The children were observed during arrival, center time and snack time. The inspector arrived for the inspection at 2:38pm and departed the center at 3:49pm. Discussion on standards related to children?s records.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the provider.
Based on the review of three staff records, the center failed to ensure that the following staff records shall be kept for each staff person: First aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and other certifications as required by the responsibilities held by the staff member.
Evidence: Staff #3 was hired on 9/16/2023 and on the day of the inspection did not have training in CPR and first aid documented in the staff record.
Plan of Correction:
Provider will obtain cpr and first aid training and document in staff record.
