Technical Assistance:
1. Recommended stained rugs be steam cleaned or replaced soon in some classrooms.
2. Discussed actions to prevent recurrence on written injury reports. All areas of report are to be completed. Discussed options for documenting prevention.
3. Broken exterior of water fountain was safeguarded during inspection.

Comments:
Conducted an unannounced renewal inspection at 10:25am. Observed 88 children + 14 direct-care staff. Ratios and supervision were in compliance. Children were observed making a variety of art projects, playing with toys, floating paper boats they made, eating snack and having outdoor active play on the playground. Staff were actively engaged with the children and activities. Classrooms were found to be clean and well supplied with toys and equipment for the children. An area of non-compliance with standards and laws reviewed was found. Questions about this inspection may be directed to pamela.sneed@doe.virginia.gov

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-280-B
Description: Based on observations made, a hazardous substance was not kept in a locked place. Evidence: A container of household cleaning wipes was found to be in a unlocked cabinet under the sink in the bathroom located on the lower level of the building and accessible to children.

Plan of Correction: Disinfecting wipes were locked immediately in front of the inspector.
