Discussed with the director: - Monitor the wear and tear of the tires in the playground area. - Nutrition components on the snack menu.
Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today. The physical plant, 5 staff files, 5 children's files, annual fire inspection, staff training, child nutrition, children's activities, medications, emergency procedures, drills and supplies were inspected between 11:30am-1:00pm. There were a total of 30 children with 4 staff members present. Children were observed playing outside on the playground, coming inside and leaving for the day. Based on observations, there were areas of the center which were not maintained in a safe, operable condition. Evidence 1. On the playground area, there were sections of the wooden barrier around the 2-5 year old climbing equipment and the wooden bench (near the parking lot) which were splintering off, that could entangle clothing or snag skin.
Plan of Correction:
The Director will have these sections sanded.
