An unannounced Virginia 22.1-289.031 Code Compliance monitoring inspection was conducted beginning at 1 p.m. and ending at 2:45 p.m. There were 51 children in care ranging in age from three to four years of age under the care and supervision of 8 staff. Children were observed during nap time. Center documents and eight staff records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliances with applicable code sections and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Based on review of documentation, the center did not describe required operations in a written statement provided to the parents/guardians of children in the center and available to the general public. Evidence: Staff #3 indicated out of state residence in Florida, Pennsylvania and New York in the previous five years. There was no documentation of a Florida central registry and sex offender background check, no documentation of a Pennsylvania out of state criminal history, central registry and sex offender background check and no documentation of a New York central registry and sex offender background check within 30 days of employment.
