The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) assumed oversight of child care licensing and
monitoring on July 1, 2021. All associated regulations and codes have transferred over from the
Virginia Department of Social Services.
Guidance, resources, model forms and training links can be found on the website childcareva.com.
The Program renewal was modified from June to September 2020 due to COVID and will renew 9/2022. A renewal application was already received but a new staff form should be submitted in August for the school year program.

An unannounced monitoring visit was conducted. No children are currently in care since August 2021 due to COVID and staffing. The program will reopen for summer camp June 20, 2022. The pool will not be in use this summer. Observed physical space and reviewed emergency preparation (emergency plan), policies and procedures and consulted on the new CDC standards that went into effect 10/13/2021. The new program coordinator has attended Phase 2 for camps to review standards. The information gathered during the inspection determined no violations with applicable standards or law.
