Comments:
Today an unannounced Renewal Inspection took place between the hours of 8:50amand 9:25am. There were 2 classrooms observed with a total of 30 children with 3 staff within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed painting, hand washing, eating snack, packing up to go to school and other organized activities. A complete inspection of the physical plant, children and staff records, evacuation drills, first aid kit and emergency materials were observed during this inspection. Based on a review of records and staff interview, children with emergency medications were not always in the care of a staff member who meets the requirements for Medication administration training.
Evidence: 1. Staff #1 had a MAT training certificate that expired on 2/26/2022. There were no other staff on-site with MAT training during the inspection. 2. There were children present who had been prescribed emergency medications on-site during the inspection.
Plan of Correction:
One staff member has already took part 1 of the MAT training and will complete part 2 soon and receive the MAT certification.
