A subsidy inspection was conducted on 5/3/22. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.
Based on a review of six staff records, it was determined that the vendor did not ensure that all staff have a current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) appropriate to the ages of children in care. The training shall include an in-person competency demonstration.
Evidence: 1. The record for staff #2 did not contain documentation of a current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) appropriate to the ages of children in care. 2. The record for staff #3 did not contain documentation of a current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) appropriate to the ages of children in care. 3. The record for staff #4 did not contain documentation of a current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) appropriate to the ages of children in care. 4. The record for staff #5 did not contain documentation of a current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) appropriate to the ages of children in care. 5. Staff #7 (Program Director) confirmed that she was unable to provide documentation during the inspection to demonstrate staff #2, staff #3, staff #4, staff #5 or staff #6 had a current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) appropriate to the ages of children in care.

The facility responded: All staff complete CPR/first aid according to the ages of children in care. All new staff will complete appropriate training that includes an in-person competency demonstration within 90 days of employment.
