Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was initiated on 5/22/2023 and concluded on 5/25/2023.? There were 20 children present with 3 staff supervising. Children were observed at check in time, bathroom break/washing hands, and snack time. A total of 5 child records and 3 staff records were reviewed. The inspection started at 3:40 pm and concluded at 4:40 pm.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Based on observation, the licensee did not ensure hazardous substances and other harmful agents such as cleaning materials, insecticides, and pesticides shall be kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children. Evidence: As confirmed by staff #1, there was a bottle of Betco disinfectant on a table next to the parent table. The bottle was labeled "keep out of reach of children" and "caution".
Plan of Correction:
Check the area prior to children walking in, if present put the bottle in the locked closet; communicate with custodians to put disinfectant away.
