Comments:
An unannounced Monitoring Inspection was conducted on August 5, 2019 from approximately 10:20 am until 12:35 pm. Upon entrance there were 42 children and 4 staff present with children. The record review sample consisted of 5 children's records and the health and emergency information for 4 staff. Four medications were reviewed. Children were observed playing large group games in the gym and board games in the cafeteria. The playground area was not inspected due to inclement weather. The areas of non-compliance are noted on the violation notice. The violations were reviewed with the designated staff in charge during the exit interview. Based on observation and staff interviews, the licensee did not ensure that all hazardous substances such as cleaning materials, insecticides, and pesticides shall be kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.
Evidence: On the wooden cart near the lunch tables there was one container of disinfectant spray and one container of disinfectant wipes. Both containers are hazardous substances and labeled "keep out of reach of children " and "caution" and were accessible to children in care.
Plan of Correction:
The designated staff member will put them on the stage and have them locked.
