Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A renewal inspection was conducted on October 15, 2020. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 27 children present and 6 staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 2 children?s records and 7 staff and applicant records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliances with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Based on record review, three of three applicant records reviewed did not contain the results of a central registry background check. Evidence: Staff 1, 2, and 3's record did not contain the results of a central registry check on the date of inspection.
Plan of Correction:
The central registry checks were completed and the results were submitted to the licensing inspector on October 26th and October 27th 2020.

Description:
Based on record review, two staff members did not have the results of a central registry check on file. Evidence: Staff 4 and 5 did not have the results of a central registry check available for review on the date of inspection. The staff information sheet submitted with the licensee's renewal application lists that the central registry checks for Staff 4 and 5 are expired.
Plan of Correction:
The background checks were requested and the results submitted to the licensing inspector for review on October 26, 2020.
