Technical Assistance:
Discussed changes in child day center standards that went into effect on 10/13/2021.

Documentation was emailed to the center with a link to trainings and resources to meet new requirements.

Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 11:45am-1:00pm. There were 41 children directly supervised by 5 staff. The physical plant, 5 staff records, children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed transitioning from a swimming activity, and eating lunch. There was an assortment of age appropriate materials for the children in care. The center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice.

Description: Based on record review, there was not always one staff member on duty who has obtained within the last three years instruction in performing the daily health observation of children.
Evidence:
There was not documentation that any staff member had obtained daily health observation training within the past three years. The training that staff members had documented does not meet the requirements for the standard.

Plan of Correction: Required staff will members will receive the necessary training prior to the start of the next season in the fall.
