Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on 10/01/2019 from 10:30 am - 12:30 pm. At the time of the tour there were 53 children in care with ten staff and the music teacher. Two administrative staff were also available. The children ranged in age from two years - five years. Children were observed during outdoor play, morning program time which included music and morning snack. Records reviewed for eight children and eight staff. One violation was observed. This violation was reviewed with the program director and is listed on the violation notice.
Based on observation, the center failed to ensure that outside areas of the center shall be maintained in a safe condition.
Evidence: The door used to enter & exit from the children's outdoor play area has widespread areas of splintered and deteriorated wood across the lower half of the door.
Plan of Correction:
Door was inspected by custodial staff and clergy from the Church. It was decided that a piece of wood cover - would be placed over the splintering area and be affixed with screws, caulk and new paint. The work will be completed by October 15, 2019. A picture will be sent to the inspector when the work is completed.
