Technical Assistance:
Had a discussion with center management regarding accessibility of staff records, food menus, and reminded management that Child #7's medication authorization has expired this week and will need to be returned to the child's parents or the parents will need to have the long-term authorization completed by the child's doctor.
Comments:
Today an unannounced renewal study was conducted beginning at 1:20pm and ended at 4:00pm. There were 29 children present today with 3 staff. Preschool children were observed waking up from their naps, washing hands and eating their afternoon snack. The school aged children were observed arriving from school, washing hands, eating snack and working independently either reading or doing homework. Children?s records, emergency preparedness procedures, (5) medications and authorizations were reviewed. Staff records are reviewed annually in the administrative office. Based on record review, children's records did not contain all required information. Evidence: Child #4 and Child #5 files did not contain the children's first date of enrollment.

Description:
Based on observation, hazardous substances were not kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children. Evidence: The cabinet above the toilet in the bathroom of the school aged classroom contains several different cleaning materials. The lock on the cabinet door is broken and does not prevent access to the cleaning materials.

We'll get the locked fixed.
