22.1-289.031. Child day center operated by religious institution exempt from licensure 22VAC40-191 Background Checks for Child Welfare Agencies 22.1 Background Checks Code; carbon monoxide detectors
Comments:
An unannounced Code Compliance inspection was conducted today with Administrative staff from 9:50 am to 11 am. Sixty children were present with 12 staff providing supervision. During the walkthrough, the Licensing Inspector was able to observe children eating their morning snack, a birthday celebration and handwashing. Viewed documentation of Medication Administration Training and First Aid/CPR certification for staff. Six staff and children's files were reviewed today. The area of non compliance is documented on the violation notice.
Based on a review of six staff files and interview with Administrative staff, it was determined that all staff did not have the central registry record background check within 30 days of employment. Evidence: Staff A was hired in July 2021 and there is no central registry background check on file.
Plan of Correction:
We will submit another request for this background check.
