A compliance inspection to monitor the requirements for Religiously Exempt Child Day Centers was conducted on February 6, 2020, from 12:00 p.m. to 12:40 p.m. At the time of arrival the following staff to child ratios were observed:
9 Children, 4 years old, with 1 staff
8 Children, 4 years old, with 1 staff
9 Children, 3 years old, with 2 staff
6 Children, 2 years old, with 1 staff
Children were observed engaging in small group learning centers, coloring, being read to and having an afternoon snack.
10 staff records were reviewed, posted information and parent handbooks were reviewed and the center program?s director was interviewed regarding the centers policies and procedures. The facility, to include all indoor areas used by preschool children and before and after care children, as well as the outdoor play space, were observed.
Staff report that the program does not routinely transport preschool children in a vehicle.
