Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 11/25/2020 and concluded on 12/02/2020. The in-charge person was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 75 children present and 13 staff. The inspector emailed the director/provider a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 4 children?s records and 4 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Based on review and staff interviews, the licensee did not ensure staff who lived outside of Virgina in the past five years record included a central registry results from the other state the individual has resided in,
Evidence: The record for staff #4 (date of hire 6-19-19) did not include results of a central registry results from Indiana where staff #4 had lived within the last 5 years.
Plan of Correction:
A new background check will be requested on 12/9/20 for this employee. Management is being retrained on proper oversight of all required background checks. Ongoing, DM will request random new hire paperwork checks to ensure compliance.
