An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on 11/15/2023 from 10:00 am- 11:00 am. There were 12 children ages 2 1/2 - 5 years old directly supervised by 3 staff. Ratios and supervision were in compliance. A sample of staff background searches, health records and trainings were discussed and reviewed. The physical plant as well as program policies regarding hand washing, arrival and departure procedures and activities were also inspected and reviewed. Children were observed: playing with toys and participating in a whole group learning activity. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Based on a review of staff records, the RECDC did not ensure each person had a current health release. Evidence: Staff 1-4 did not have a current health report on record during the inspection.

Description:
Based on a review of staff records, the RECDC did not ensure required background checks were completed every 5 years. Evidence: Staff #1 had finger prints that expired on 9/18/2023. Staff #2 had finger prints that expired on 09/11/2023. Staff #3 & #4 had finger prints that expired on 09/14/2023.
Plan of Correction:
Finger print checks will be repeated. We thought we had one more year.
