Comments:
An unannounced Monitoring Inspection took place on September 25, 2023 between the hours of approximately 10:10 a.m. and 10:50 a.m. Today was a Teacher Workday. There were 2 classrooms observed with a total of 34 children with 2 staff within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed using tablets, painting and other organized activities. Positive interaction between staff and children were observed. A complete inspection of the physical plant, children and staff records, fire drill log, and medication was conducted during this inspection. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program. Standard #: 8VAC20-780-40-M
Description: Based on staff interview, the center failed to maintain, in a way that is accessible to all staff who work with children, a current written list of all children's allergies, sensitivities, and dietary restrictions.

Evidence: When asked about the location of the center's allergy list, Staff #2, #3, and #4 stated that they did not know where it was located.

Standard #: 8VAC20-780-245-J-3
Description: Based on record review and staff interview, the center failed to ensure that any child for whom emergency medications have been prescribed are always in the care of a staff member with the required medication administration training.

Evidence:
1. At the time of inspection, there were two children present with emergency medications. There were no staff present with a current MAT certification.
2. 3 out of the 3 staff present confirmed that they did not have a MAT certification.
