Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. A subsidy health and safety inspection was initiated on 03/17/2021 and concluded on 03/17/2021. The Center Supervisor (CS) was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 8 children present and 9 staff. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy regulations that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. The information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliances with subsidy regulations, and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
Based on a review of records, staff records are incomplete. Evidence: 1 of 9 staff records reviewed did not contain documentation of current first aid certification. Certification available for review expired 2/2021. (Staff #6)

Staff #6 is registered for a class on 3/25/21. Staff will provide documentation as soon as possible.

Description:
Based on a review of records, staff records do not include all required documentation for training. Evidence: 6 of 9 staff records reviewed did not contain documentation of the required annual 3 hour update training. 6 staff have no documentation of updated 3 hour training dated in 2020.
Plan of Correction:
Staff will begin taking the class immediately. The course will be added to the internal tracking system for required updates for staff records, that way staff will receive notifications of items needing attention.
