Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 1:00pm-3:00pm. There were 53 children directly supervised by 6 staff. The physical plant, 6 staff records, 5 children?s records, medications, evacuation drills, injury reports, and emergency supplies were inspected. Children were observed eating snack and playing games. Handwashing procedures were also observed. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Based on medication and medication documentation review, the center did not ensure that when an authorization for medication expired, the parent be notified that the medication needed to be picked up within 14 days or the medication was disposed of by the center. Evidence: 1. Medication in the center for Child #8 had an authorization dated 8/21/2023. The authorization did not contain a signature from the physician. The authorization expired 10 business days from 8/21/2023. 2. Medication in the center for Child #11 had an authorization dated 8/24/2023. The authorization did not contain a signature from the physician. The authorization expired 10 business days from 8/24/2023.
