Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today between the hours of 11:00am-12:15 pm. There were a total of eight children with three staff members present. Children were observed during lunch time, engaged in group activities and hand washing. A selection of staff and children records, medications and other documents were reviewed. The physical space, emergency supplies, evacuation drills, attendance records, and the Emergency Preparedness Plan were reviewed. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the violation notice. Based on observation, hazardous substances such as cleaning materials, insecticides, and pesticides were not kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children. Evidence: 1. Sanitizing Wipes, multiple bottles of disinfecting spray, and two bottles of cleaning solution was located on an inaccessible shelf in the classroom. The hazardous substances were not locked up using a safe locking method.
Plan of Correction:
The center will lock up all hazardous substances in a locked closet.
