Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection took place this afternoon from 3:30 - 4:30 pm. There were 57 children present at the beginning of the inspection, with 3 staff present. I observed children arriving, getting snack, coloring, .playing a video Fifa soccer game and getting ready to go to the gym. I also observed three children building ports for their boats, and two children working on blueprints for a rocket they are planning to build at SACC. Record keeping and medications were well-organized. If you have any questions, please contact me at brenda.kuhlman@dss.virginia.gov
Based on observation, staff confirmation and attendance records, the ratios today did not reflect the ages of the youngest children present. Evidence: At the beginning of the inspection, there were 57 children present, age 6 - 12 years. They were supervised by three staff. The ratio if any children under age 8 are present 1:18, but it was 1:19 today.
Plan of Correction:
We only received one substitute today. I will talk to my regional supervisor about this problem
