Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A renewal inspection was initiated on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 and concluded on Thursday, May 20, 2021. The manager was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were no children and staff present for in person, however the program provides virtual learning to the children. The inspector emailed the manager a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 3 children?s records and 2 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility. The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs. Based on review of staff records and interview, the center did not ensure to obtain a copy of the results a sex offender registry check, and a search of the child abuse and neglect registry or equivalent registry from any state in which the individual has resided in the preceding five years.
Evidence: In Staff#1's record (date of hire:12/18/19) there were no results of an out of state central registry and sex offender registry search found. Interview with staff confirmed this documentation was not available during this inspection.
