Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection took place on September 12, 2019. There were 86 children in care from ages 3 months old to 3 years old with 29 staff providing care and supervision. The inspector reviewed 8 children's records on site. The LI reviewed 8 staff records and 1 board officer records at another site for this center. There were 4 medications reviewed at the center. Children were observed during the following activities: hand washing practices, circle time, signing, and eating snack. The inspector also reviewed emergency drill documentation, first aid kits, employee and parent policies and procedures, and emergency supplies. There were discussions about the renewal application and medication forms. The inspection was conducted from approximately 8:00AM to 12:30 PM. Findings were reviewed with staff at the conclusion. Description: Based on observation, the center failed to ensure that all areas and equipment of the center, inside and outside, shall be maintained in a clean, safe and operable condition.

Evidence:

The timber borders around the playground equipment are splintering and deteriorating and pose as potential hazards for children.

Plan of Correction: According to staff, bumpers for playgrounds were ordered and delivered.
