Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on 4/2/2024 from 1:10 pm to 4:46 pm. There were 45 children in care, ages two months to three years, in eight groups with 15 staff. Four child records, four staff records, six medications and associated records, and other documents were reviewed. Children were observed playing.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Based on staff record review, the center failed to ensure that no person shall be hired for compensated employment prior to the center obtaining an employment eligibility letter upon completion of a fingerprint background check as required by the Code of Virginia.
EVIDENCE: Staff 2 has a documented start date of 3/18/2024 and the record does not have an employment eligibility letter upon completion of a fingerprint background check as required by the Code of Virginia.
