A subsidy health and safety inspection (SHSI) was conducted on January 16, 2024 from approximately 3:15pm until 5:00pm. There were 49 children present with five staff supervising. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and a violation was issued to the program.
If you have any questions about this inspection, please contact the licensing inspector at (804) 840-8260.

Based on review of five staff records, the vendor did not ensure all staff who work directly with children obtained current certification in first aid within 90 days of the date of employment. Evidence: 1. The records for Staff #3 (Date of Employment 06/05/2023) and Staff #4 (Date of Employment 06/05/2023) did not contain current certification in first aid. 2. A member of management confirmed Staff #3 and Staff #4 did not current first aid certification.
Plan of Correction:
First aid was added to staff members certifications. Trainer error, but The YMCA will be sure to double check certificates moving forward
