Comments:
A Subsidy Health and Safety inspection was conducted on July 27, 2023 to review supplemental health and safety requirements. This on-site visit was conducted from 11:00 am through 12:20 pm. Upon arrival, there were 37 children, ages from 2 months through 5 , with 10 staff supervising. Five children records and ten staff records were reviewed and updated.
A licensing code compliance inspection was also conducted this date; the two inspections combined cover all subsidy health and safety requirements. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection.

Based on record review the center failed to have one staff member complete the Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff within 90 days of employment.
Evidence:
1. Ten staff records were reviewed. 2. Staff #4 did not have documentation of obtaining the required Virginia Preservice Training for Child Care Staff within 90 days of employment. 3. Staff #4's date of hire was documented 03/02/2023. 4. The director confirmed Staff #4 had not taken the required preservice training within 90 days of employment.
