Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.

A monitoring inspection was initiated on 5/26/20 and concluded on 5/27/20. The assistant director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 14 children present and 4 staff. The inspector emailed the assistant director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 2 children?s records and 2 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-260-B
Description: Based on a review of the most recent health inspection, the center did not ensure that annual approval from the health department shall be provided for meeting requirements for water supply, sewage disposal system and food service.

Evidence:
1. Documentation of the most recent health inspection is dated 2/27/19.
2. Staff 1 confirmed that the most recent health inspection is expired.

Plan of Correction: The center responded with the following: We will contact the health department to schedule an inspection.
