Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted on November 1, 2023. There was a total of 40 children with 4 staff members supervising. Children were observed engaged in various age appropriate activities, handwashing procedures and transitioning to the gym and school classrooms. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, children and staff records, special care and emergencies and nutrition. The information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
If you have any questions regarding this inspection, please contact the Licensing Inspector, Sheila Nelson at Sheila.nelson@doe.virginia.gov or 804-629-7489.
Thank you for your cooperation during this inspection.
Sheila Nelson License Inspector Virginia Department of Education Office of Child Care Health and Safety Division of Early Childhood Care and Education
Based on observation and interview, the center failed to maintain, in a way that is accessible to all staff who work with children, a current written list of all children's allergies, sensitivities, and dietary restrictions documented in the allergy plan required in 8VAC20-780-60-A.8. This list shall be dated and kept confidential in each room or area where children are present. Evidence: 1. There was no written allergy list available to review. 2. The supervisor could not find the written allergy list.
Plan of Correction:
I will get the allergy list written today and will ensure it is accessible to all staff.
