Technical Assistance:
Discussed how to expand on Annual Injury Prevention Plan.
Comments:
An in person unannounced inspection was conducted today. There were 12 children with 3 staff and the activities observed included Kite making, Painting jars, working on painting magnets, and glue projects. The staff are CPR/First Aid certified and all staff have completed current Health and Safety training. The medications policies are being followed and there are staff with current MAT certification. Based on observation, it was determined the program has a piece of equipment that is not maintained in a clean and safe condition. Evidence: 1. One of the two refrigerators used by the program has serious rusting on both of the doors, and on the side of the refrigerator. 2. Upon opening the refrigerator door, it was also noted that only one of two screws were secure in the handle and that rust was evident in the loose handle.
Plan of Correction:
A fridge has been ordered but has not arrived yet. We will remove this when we get our new appliance. In the meantime, only staff are going to use the appliance and will have hands washed after use.
