An unannounced complaint investigation was conducted on 9/11/2023 from 1:20 pm to 1:55 pm in response to a complaint received on 9/7/2023. There were 26 children in care, ages four months to four years, in four groups under the care of four staff. The children were observed napping. Staff were interviewed and classrooms were observed. Evidence gathered during the investigation supports an allegation made in the complaint. The complaint is valid.
The Director and LI had a discussion pertaining to classroom paperwork, and staff training regarding ratios and supervision.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Based on observation, the center failed to maintain staff to child ratios in a classroom.
EVIDENCE: There were five (5) children observed in care in the infant room. The youngest child was 4 months old. The required ratio is 1 staff to 4 children.
Plan of Correction:
The director will hire part time staff to cover at lunch/nap so staff can take lunch breaks so all rooms can stay in ratio.
