Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on February 4, 2021 and concluded on February 5, 2021. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 46 children present and 10 direct staff. The inspector emailed the director a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed three children?s records and three staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Based on record review, children's records did not contain required information. Evidence: 1. Child #3's(Start date-11/11/2020) record did not contain a parent's work phone number.

Description:
Based on record review and interview, staff did not obtain a criminal history records check prior to the first day of employment. Evidence: 1. Staff #1's(Date of Hire-01/02/2021) record contained documentation of a criminal history record check(fingerprint results) dated 01/20/2020. Results were obtained after Staff #1's date of hire.
Plan of Correction:
Moving forward, the center will ensure that fingerprint results are obtained prior to the first day of employment.
