Comments:
A renewal inspection was conducted on 11/20/2023. There were (8) children present and 1 caregiver. A tour of the home was conducted, in addition to a record review and interviews with Caregiver. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-830-A
Description: Based on a record review the licensee did not ensure an emergency evacuation drill and procedures were practiced monthly.
Evidence:
The licensee did not have documentation of an emergency drill practiced on the month of October.

Plan of Correction: This was an oversight. Drills are conducted monthly and the licensee will be sure to document each drill.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-570-A
Description: Based on observation, interview and record review, the licensee did not ensure each caregiver did not exceed 16 points using the standard's point system.

Evidence:
When the inspector arrived at the licensee's home there were 8 children in care, totaling 23 points with 1 caregiver.

Plan of Correction: This is not a regular occurrence. There was a family emergency and one of the caregivers had to leave.
