Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was concluded on September 23, 2020. The director was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 86 children present and 9 supervising staff. The inspector remotely reviewed a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 4 children?s records and 4 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Based on record review, 4 of 4 staff records reviewed did not contain documentation that documentation that two or more references as to character and reputation as well as competency were checked before employment or volunteering Evidence: Staff 1, 2, 3, and 4 did not have documentation that two or more references as to character and reputation as well as competency were checked before employment or volunteering.
Plan of Correction:
We have contacted HR to find out whether the references have been reached or if the request needs to be resubmitted.
