Comments:
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 04/16/2024 and concluded on 04/16/2024. There were eight children present with the provider and assistant present. The point total was 18. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of five children records and three staff records were reviewed. The inspection started at 09:30 am and concluded at 11:00 am.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-280
Description: Based on observation, the provider failed to ensure that potentially poisonous substances, materials and supplies such as, but not limited to, cleaning agents, disinfectants, deodorizers, plant care chemicals, pesticides, and petroleum distillates shall be stored away from food in areas inaccessible to children.

Evidence:
In the children's bathroom a tube of diapering cream was found in an unlocked drawer accessible by children. In the dining room a bottle of rubbing alcohol was found in an unlocked drawer accessible by children.

Plan of Correction: Director removed diapering cream from a drawer accessible by children and will put a lock on the drawer in the dining room containing rubbing alcohol.
